TULUM

Meaning wall in Mayan, is the site of a pre-columbian Maya city that sits facing the rising sun of the East. A thick wall, for which it was named, forms a horseshoe that opens facing eastward towards the Caribbean Sea. This provided much needed protection from invaders and allowed traders that came with goods from Central Mexico and Central America to safely dock and transport their goods inland.
